some time back we were going over expansion draft an Nashville came up as not being able to keep all of their defensemen...from what I recall, some panned the possibility of trading for him

I was excited when I started reading this sentence. Then it turned out Harrington wasn't leaving TBN.

Does anyone know fure sure that if we sign Antipin, do we have to protect him in the expansion draft?
Im assuming yes due to age and years played in a professional league.
Depending on what we could get for the 8th overall, i would trade it.
But i also have no problem with having an 8th overall pick defenceman developing in the system.

I would guess that he wouldn't need to be protected but we don't have 3 dmen worth protecting anyway so it's irrelevant

In Pach's article, he suggests that we don't worry about the upcoming draft because DeVine will oversee it. Wasn't DeVine responsible for some of the terrible draft years that have left us in the predicament that we are presently in?

I dislike Harrington just as much as everyone else here but he does bring a good point, do we really need the 8th overall pick this year? We've been stockpiling picks for years now and to no real results.

I was busy this afternoon pach and didn't read blog til now (sorry).

I actually expressed (here, yesterday, I think) the same opinion you attribute to Harrington in the blog.

This leads me to believe my idea was utterly franking stupid and off base.
